Young 2 yr old with precocious puberty
CTScan suggestive of malignant adrenal cancer
Posted for ultrasound guided biopsy & bone marrow aspiration
Went ok under general anaesthesia
At reversal, my assistant removed LMA Proseal a tad too early
Child developed laryngospasm
Desaturated from 100% to 27%
Bradycardia rate 30
Required Atropine, PEEP, deepened anaesthesia with Propofol & Sevoflurane
Required short CPR
Got better (Alhamdulillah!) & discharged well to ward
Probably one of the most dreaded complication of paediatric anaesthesia
Our paeditrician also got horrific day today
But let her tell her own story...
Honestly, dont know what those young houseman are complaining about
